Settings

Open Settings from the left sidebar (desktop) or the gear icon (mobile). Here's what you can configure.

Theme

Switch between light mode, dark mode, or follow your system preference.

View Management

Create, edit, and reorder custom views. Each view has a name, a set of filters, and a default sort order. You can also hide built-in views you don't use.

Transcription

Choose how Danny processes audio from brain dump and voice input. See Brain Dump for transcription mode options.

AI Features

Toggle AI classification and estimation on or off. When enabled, new tasks are automatically processed after you create them.

You can also pick which AI model Danny uses. Higher-capability models produce better results but use more of your AI budget.

Model tierBest for
StandardEveryday task management — fast and cost-efficient
AdvancedMore nuanced classifications and richer day planning

Cost Confirmation Mode

Control when Danny asks you to confirm before running an AI operation:

ModeBehavior
NeverDanny runs AI operations automatically without asking
Above thresholdDanny asks when the estimated cost exceeds the threshold you set
AlwaysDanny always asks before any AI operation

The threshold field lets you set the estimated cost level above which Danny prompts for confirmation. This is useful if you want to stay aware of larger operations like task decomposition or morning planning without being interrupted for routine classification.

Cache Management

Danny caches some AI results to avoid redundant processing. You can clear the cache here if classifications seem stale or you want to re-process tasks with a new model.

Digest Preferences

Configure morning and evening digest emails. Set delivery times and choose which calendars to include. See Morning Routine & Digests for details.

Integrations

Connect Google Calendar and Gmail. See Google Calendar and Gmail for setup instructions.

API Keys

Create and manage API keys for external tools like Claude Code. See Connect Claude Code for setup instructions.

Usage & Billing

View your current AI token usage and manage your subscription. See Billing & Usage for details.

Developer Mode

Shows extra debugging information in the UI — AI token counts, request timing, and raw API responses. You don't need this for normal use; it's helpful if you're troubleshooting an unexpected result.

You can also toggle Developer Mode with ⌘ Shift D (Mac) or Ctrl Shift D (Windows/Linux).
