Gmail

Danny can access your Gmail to search emails, read threads, and create drafts. This is useful when tasks come from email conversations or when you need to follow up on something.

Enable Gmail access

Gmail access is part of the Google connection. When you connect your Google account in Settings > Integrations, you can choose to grant email permissions alongside calendar access.

Danny requests these permissions:

PermissionWhat it means
Read emailsDanny can search and read your email threads when you ask
Create draftsDanny can write email drafts for you to review and send
View labelsDanny can see your folder/label structure to find emails

Danny never sends emails on your behalf. It only creates drafts that you review and send yourself. You must click Send in Gmail — Danny will never send without your explicit action.

What Danny can do with Gmail

Search and read emails

Ask Danny to find emails in chat:

  • "Find the email from Sarah about the project deadline"
  • "What did the vendor say in their last message?"

Danny searches your inbox and reads the relevant threads to answer your question.

Create drafts

Danny can write email drafts based on your tasks:

  • "Draft a follow-up email to the client about the proposal"
  • "Write a reply to that thread"

The draft appears in your Gmail Drafts folder. You review it, make any changes, and send it when ready.

Email-to-task (coming soon)

Danny will support a personal capture email address — forward any email to it and Danny creates a task from the subject and body. This feature is coming soon.

Disconnect Gmail

To remove email access, disconnect your Google account in Settings > Integrations. This revokes both calendar and email permissions. You can reconnect and choose different permissions afterward.
