Emailing Tasks to Danny
Forward emails or send notes to your personal Danny address to create tasks without opening the app.
What it does
Every Danny account has a personal capture email address in the format tasks-{hash}@askdanny.to. Anything you send to that address becomes a task. You can forward emails that need action, CC your Danny address on threads you want to track, or just shoot off a quick note from your phone.
How to use it
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Email Capture.
- Copy your personal Danny address.
- Forward any email to that address, or send a new email directly to it.
- The subject line becomes the task name. The body becomes the task description.
- The task appears in your list within a few seconds.
Example
You receive an email from a client asking for a revised proposal. You forward it to your Danny address. A task called "Re: Revised proposal request" appears in your list with the email body as the description.
Or: you're away from your desk and think of something you need to do. You email your Danny address from your phone: Subject: Call the accountant before Thursday. Done.
Tips
- Save your Danny address as a contact on your phone so you can email tasks while mobile without looking it up.
- CC your Danny address on any email thread where you own an action item — the thread becomes the task description automatically.
- Danny strips email signatures and quoted history, so the task description stays clean.
