Creating Tasks
Add tasks with natural language — due dates, priorities, and more from a single line of text.
What it does
The quick-add bar at the top of your task list understands plain English. You can type a task name along with scheduling and priority information all at once, and Danny will parse it automatically. No menus, no dropdowns — just type and press Enter.
How to use it
- Click the quick-add bar at the top of the task list (or press the keyboard shortcut to focus it).
- Type your task using natural language. You can include due dates, priorities, and labels in the same phrase.
- Press Enter to save. The task appears in your list immediately.
- To add more details (description, time estimate, snooze, project), click the task to open the task detail panel.
Example
Typing Prepare Q2 budget slides tomorrow P1 creates a task called "Prepare Q2 budget slides" with a due date of tomorrow and priority set to Urgent (P1).
Typing call dentist next Monday creates a task with a due date of the following Monday.
Tips
- Use
P1,P2,P3, orP4anywhere in the text to set priority (P1 = Urgent, P4 = Low). - Natural language dates like
today, tomorrow, this Friday, andnext weekall work. - If you forget a detail, just click the task to edit it in the task detail panel — you don't have to get everything right the first time.
