Breaking Down Projects
Ask Danny to decompose complex projects into concrete, actionable subtasks.
What it does
The task decomposer takes a vague or complex project and turns it into a specific list of things to do. You either open a task and click the Break down button, or describe a project in the chat. Danny analyzes the goal and proposes a set of subtasks you can review and confirm before they're added to your list.
How to use it
- Open any task by clicking on it to reveal the task detail panel.
- Click the Break down button in the detail panel.
- Danny proposes a list of subtasks. Review them.
- Click Confirm to add them to your list, or edit individual items before confirming.
- Alternatively, open the chat and type something like
break down "plan the product launch"and Danny will walk you through the same process.
Example
You have a task called "Move to new apartment." Clicking Break down might produce:
- Research moving companies and get 3 quotes
- Schedule elevator reservation with building management
- Order packing supplies
- Notify utilities of address change
- Update address with bank, subscriptions, and government agencies
Tips
- You don't need an existing task — you can describe a project directly in chat:
"I need to think through launching a newsletter. Help me break it down." - After confirming subtasks, the original task stays in your list as a parent so you can track overall progress.
- If Danny's suggestions miss something, you can add it manually after confirming.
